Petey's Burger - Now Officially Open

Petey's Burger - 30-17 30th Avenue, Astoria NY 11102
718.267.6300
N/W Train to 30th Avenue

Earlier this week, one of my readers (Jake) mentioned that Petey's is now open. It sure is! I walked by today to check out their menu. I didn't have an appetite for a burger at that moment so I didn't go in but I will soon. Here's a peak at a portion of their menu. It looks pretty reasonable and from the look of it, I'd say that Petey's falls somewhere in between a traditional fast food joint and a nicer burger place.

Cheeseburger...$3.99
Petey's Melt...$3.99
Cajun Fire...$4.19
Fresh cut fries...$2.79
Shakes...$3.99

Value Combos
Burger, fries and a drink...$7.29
Triple cheese, fries and a drink...$10.29
Petey's melt, fries and a drink...$7.79
Cajun fire, fries and a drink...$7.99

Petey's opens at 11a and for the first couple of weeks will close at 11p. Pretty convenient if you're looking for a late night, inexpensive snack.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

  4. I would gladly pay 3.99 for a burger that's as good as something I can get at a JG Mellons, Shake Shack, etc. Will it live up to those burgers? Doubtful. But hopefully it will at least seem like they're trying.

And yeah, I don't think those hockey pucks at McDonald's really qualify as "burgers". I think of them more as beige colored food stuffs only to be eaten in case of emergencies.

  6. Hey Anon-

C'mon -- 3.99 for a really fantastic burger was worth it...at least for me it was (actually- $3.49 for no cheese). I thought it was great...Gonna try the shakes next time.

  7. Tried 'em last night. Their burgers were ok, but anybody expecting something like In-N-Out best tamp down their expectations. Their fries were pretty damn good tho.

  8. Petey's burger is a fastfood restaurant, yes, but its a totally different type of fastfood. Its fresh and delicious and a meal like that for under ten dollars is a phenomenal bargain. I am a Petey's fan. Check out the glowing review at New York Knife & Fork!!!
