Happy St. Paddy's Day, everyone!  Hope your'e all excited to channel your Irish today, which shouldn't be too difficult with the fun activities Portland has in store.  I've curated a short but delicious list of options for you below.  Let me know what you've tried or some other specials you'd like to share with others.  Go green!

Frice Pastry - This lovely gourmet bakery on North Williams is serving up something very special in honor of St. Paddy's in the form of these delicate corned beef and cabbage pasties.  Who wouldn't want to enjoy this savory treat baked in the comfort of a butter, pastry crust? 4082 North Williams Avenue, Portland. 971.266.8348

Bunk Sandwiches
- Celebrating with a special sandwich option just for today, you can get your load of their house cured corned beef with braised cabbage, whole grain mustard, aioli and Swiss (pictured above).  Mmmmm! Various locations around Portland.

Pappa Murphy's
- I can't ignore a Papa Murphy's St. Paddy's Day special, especially when it involves spinning a virtual wheel of prizes.  In mine, I got a free chocolate chip cookie dough! Various locations around Portland

The Hop & Vine - Another one of my favorite Northern haunts, they're serving up Craft Jello shots as well as something called the Dublin Depth Charge (courtesy of Jacob Grier) with Nitro Stout, Bailey's and Jameson.  1914 North Killingsworth Street, Portland. 503.954.3322

Pie Spot
- Who doesn't love a great pie - especially a St. Paddy's Day themed one with Irish Bailey's cream.  It's served all day today so go get your slice, or two, or three.  521 NE 24th Avenue, Portland. 503.913.5103

3 Last Minute St. Paddy's Day Specials

Image by Hostess with the Mostess Blog

Happy St. Paddy's Day, Astoria.  Hope everyone is recovering from a rowdy evening, and is ready for another dose of fun (and beer) today.  While some of you may already have your afternoon planned out, here are some last minute things you can do today.  Hope you enjoy and be merry, whatever it is you end up doing.

John Brown Smokehouse
- If you're in the mood for some stellar BBQ and live music, hop on over to JBS for some beer, short ribs, brisket, duck and other meaty goodies.  They have tons of interesting craft beers on tap as well as in bottles.  Get there early (before 6 p.m.) to get a great spot and bring your buddies too.  10-43 44th Drive, LIC.  347.617.1120

SingleCut Beersmiths - What a better way to spend St. Paddy's Day than at a brewery?!  SingleCut's taproom opens at 1:00 p.m. today and if you stick around for a bit, you'll catch some fun live music on their "AV Stage" from opening to 8ish., featuring the Homesick Houndogs.  I'll be there for the festivities, so hopefully I'll catch ya there.  19-33 37th Street, Astoria. 718.606.0788

Sugarfreak - For something a little different (and a bit more tame), visit this New Orleans' staple, which will feature some fun Irish specials just for today.  Come ready to taste green mac 'n cheese, corn beef and cabbage ($5) and Bailey's bread pudding ($4).  The drinks offering is great too, including bayou bombs and shamrock punch.
  36-18 30th Avenue, Astoria.  718.726.5850
