It’s no secret the Brooklyn Flea has some of the best food vendors around. From the refreshing, locally-sourced People’s Pops to Montreal bagels carted in by Mile End, it’s hard to walk away with an empty stomach.

On a Flea trip this weekend to find a gift for a friend’s girlfriend, we overheard someone saying “the ice cream sandwiches will be here at 1:00!” When we realized the sandwich ends weren’t oven baked cookies, but actually thinly pressed waffle circles, we knew we had to try them. At the right time, we came back to The Good Batch’s stand for stroopwafel ice cream sandwiches. The combo of vanilla ice cream, oozy caramel, and wafer was a tasty, lighter alternative to a more traditional ice cream sandwich. The waffle got a little soggy in the heat as the ice cream melted, but we licked up every last bite, savoring the cinammony sweetness.

The Good Batch also sells cookies, pastries, and other baked goods. Check them out online (store coming soon) or at the Flea!
