I recently came across a sushi menu that caught my eye. It was for Momiji Japanese Cuisine on Ditmars, which looks small but nice--and it seems clean. While I've passed it many times on my way to Inside Astoria, I've never yet tried it. What made me stop and look at the menu were the prices--they've slashed their sushi/sashimi a la carte offering by 50%.
