M. Wells - A Quebeco American Diner Opens Today in LIC

Last month's Taste of LIC introduced me to a couple of new eateries on the brink of opening.  One of these was M.Wells, a Quebeco-American diner that raised eyebrows and got tummies rumbling with their slow roasted pork, dressed with a sweet maple reduction.  The decadence and the quality of this dish made such an impression on me, that I've been curiously monitoring its progress.  Well the time is today...and this place is officially open for breakfast from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Lunch and dinner are in the works very soon, and that's when you'll be able to indulge in the aforementioned pork dish. Mmmm...my tummy is rumbling at the thought of it.

The website is up, including a nice shot of the interior.  Very cool, and very 50's. I think you'll dig it. There are more details about the cuisine in this complimentary NYT piece. Enjoy.
