New Organic Market Coming to Astoria

I was so excited to see that a new organic market called Nature's Best will be opening soon in the Ditmars area.  The brand spankin' new awning is up, as you can see, but it still very much looks like a work in progress.  When it does open, it'll be nice to have a specialty organic market in this side of town.  I hope it offers the same (or better) variety as the 30th Avenue Sai Organics.  I love that place, but boy are the prices steep!

Being the curious cat that I am, I called them but still no answer.  If you know the scoop, shoot over a comment and I'll continue to keep a close eye on it.

Nature's Best Organic Market - 31-28 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria NY 11105

And while I like the selection of items at Greenline, just around the corner on 31st St., the store is so tight that I hate shopping there. The new organic market that opened on Broadway has a lot more room to browse and shop. I hope this one has a decent amount of space. And maybe has less fruit and veggies and more true organic grocery items.

  2. I'm a bit skeptical. The Greenline Organic greenmarket on 31st St around the corner from there has Organic on its awning, but most of its produce is conventional. The only place near Ditmars to get organic vegetables is Fresh Start on 23rd, between 29th and 31st, although their produce quality can be problematic. (Love lots of their other stuff, though!)

  3. What about Fresh Start on 23rd Ave near 31st St?

  4. I know what you mean guys about Greenline. Some products are great (but you have to go to the back of the store to really see those). The produce is not always in the best condition, and a place like Key Food (next door), which is definitely not all that organic offers better-looking products. We'll see what surfaces with Nature's Best. Hoping for the best.
