Trattoria El Greco is Now Open!

Awesome news! After months of arduous anticipation, Trattoria El Greco on 30th Avenue and 36th Street is finally open.  Jess and I saw it up and running today when we walked by.  The space looks really nice and modern inside, with interesting light fixtures and long tables conducive to large groups.  It was especially welcoming with the windows and the doors all open.  And with tomorrow's equally beautiful weather, it'd be a good opportunity to try them out.  I posted the menu earlier this week, but here it is again to refresh your memory.

Trattoria - 36-19 30th Avenue, Astoria NY 11103

N/W Train to 30th Avenue

  1. Just checked... what you saw was either a soft opening or training with the new employees. They will be open to the public this coming Tuesday, but are not in fact open until then... sorry... I'm excited, too. ;o)

  2. What a bummer! It looked totally open. Good to know that it will be officially opening this coming week.

  3. place hasnt opened yet because the proprietor is under federal investigation for stiffing non-union workers in his construction business and there is an injunction on him thats why he hasnt opened- very shady character

  4. Oh boy - hope everything gets straightened out.

  5. just went there for dinner tonight so it's definitely open! the food and service were both outstanding. the biggest standout was a nutella/banana "calzone" for dessert that i could honestly eat every day for the rest of my life - if i could ignore the calories of course :) Inside decor is beautifully done though the music was a bit loud for a smallish place. I will say that I think it is a bit overpriced by Astoria standards but the portions are pretty large so you can get away with ordering less. would definitely go back!

  6. Oooohh sounds great Lauren. I can't wait to try it. You had me at banana nutella calzone.
