I saw the above sign on 30th Avenue and 37th Street last week. What a nice surprise - looks like we're getting a brick oven pizzeria soon. I don't know details just yet but I'll monitor it for future developments. Not sure if the place is called Trattoria (looks that way though) or if that's just a teaser, but a pizza place will be welcomed amongst a sea of Greek cafes. Can't wait...
Let me know if you have more scoop.

Aren't there enough pizza places? I can think of five within like two blocks of there.ReplyDelete
Yes but not enough brick oven pizzerias!ReplyDelete
wow you got a grub street link up. nice!!ReplyDelete
I know - pretty cool. They used to pick me up before they removed "Neighborhood Watch" from Grub Street and now it's back, I guess I'm back on their radar. Woohoo!ReplyDelete
If i'm not mistaken it should be called "Trattoria El Greco"...more details will follow.ReplyDelete
Cool - thanks for the tip Ivan.ReplyDelete
Though yes, there are way too many pizza places around here, there is not one brick oven place. This will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood, if it really will be "brick oven." We have yet to be "Wowed!" by any pizza around here. Oh how I miss Teatro Pizza in Times Square . . . they were the best, best, best!!!ReplyDelete
Yes, the name will be Trattoria El Greco since the owner is greek. He has no connection whatsoever to the Italian cuisine but a big ambition to do a different kind of business then his Greek friends. We wish him good luck!ReplyDelete
When will this open anon?ReplyDelete
It must be ready soon... a matter of a few months...ReplyDelete
Months? It's been months in waiting. Ok...we shall see. I hope that it's sooner than later.ReplyDelete
I just came across your website and I was pleasently surprise to find people are really interested to have a nice italian restaurant in the neibourhood. Since Asroria became more and more crowded, we wanted to give to our comunity a nice"taste" of a real italian food! I hope you will join us for the Grand opening which is going to happened sometime at the end of February. If you are interested please answer back and we will give more details about the event!
