Winners of the 5 Napkin Burger Giveaway Are...

Last week, I announced a fun giveaway centered around a 5 Napkin Burger $15 gift certificate and an exclusive Fooditka branded eco-bag.  I love that a lot of you wrote in and really appreciated the valuable feedback you gave me about my new site name - thanks for the love.

As promised, I chose 5 winners through the help of random.org, who will be awarded with the gift certificates and the eco-bag package.  But I'd like to thank everyone for participating, and can guarantee that there will be future fun giveaways for you to take part in real soon.

2 Winners of the Ooh la la Couture Candy Cupcake Giveaway

Ooh la la Candy Giveaway

Happy Holidays Astoria!  As a special Friday treat and in the spirit of the holiday season, I wanted to spoil you guys a bit with a sweet candy cupcake giveaway from Ooh la la Candy.

What is Ooh la la Candy?
I had the pleasure of learning about this innovative, fashion/treats company, and loved their super cute, fun and sexy packaging of the above-pictured "couture candy cupcakes."  Although these adorable candy creations may look like a colorful cupcake, they're made of bite-sized candy such as jellybeans, chocolate candy, fruit flavored sucking candy and others.

The company, run by mother-daughter duo, Sara Stevens and Rebeca Zorowitz does a great job at elevating the creativity in candy packaging and making it ultra chic and fashionable.  A portion of their proceeds benefit charitable foundations such as the North Shore Animal League, which is always a plus.

The giveaway I'm about to extend to you comes from a local source, right here in Astoria.  Shannon, an Astoria chica and a fan of my blog runs a cool networking company called The Ten Project, along with partners, Ariel and Maiya.  This Friday they're hosting a fun wine event at Maslow 6 in Tribeca for young professionals. 

The event will not only introduce you to five new wines and their diverse origins, as wine expert, Mollie Battenhouse will illustrate, but you'll also have a chance to nibble on delicious cured meats and cheeses, meet new friends and network with like-minded individuals.
