The old Lava Cafe is no longer, I noticed last week and will now be called Sandro's Latin Food. Meg told me about it last week and I took notice of it too when I was in the neighborhood. Not sure yet when it's going to open but a Latin food restaurant will be welcome on 23rd Avenue, which is heavily populated with Greek tavernas and Italian restaurants. I hope it's an authentic Latin food joint, serving some interesting homemade concotions. I don't know more at this point, but please holler if you do.
