Win the New Not-Yet-Released Top Chef Cookbook

This morning, I had the great fun of attending an Advertising Week event at Rockefeller Center. The event was called Women at NBCU and incorporated various female-focused companies such as Oxygen, Green, Telemundo, iVillage, Bravo and of course NBC who hosted it.

Bethenny Frankel from the Real Housewives of New York City was there, giving her commentary about all the women's initiatives that we represented. She looked fabulous (as usual) and added her spunky comments and infectious energy everywhere she went.

The highlight for me was the Bravo station and meeting two Top Chef New York cheftestants, Carla and Ariane. They were both lovely to talk to and prepared two breakfast dishes for us to munch on--one of which was Carla's famous Green Eggs and Ham and the other was Ariane's stuffed French Toast. Both dishes were interesting but I preferred the sweetness and decadence of Ariane's French Toast. It was loaded with flavor and a luxurious cream cheese filling. It looked more like little cakes than French Toast but that was fine with me.

Carla's Green Eggs and Ham (pictured above) was an interesting idea, but needed more zing in terms of seasoning. However, Carla was as spunky in person as she was on camera, with a wonderfully uplifting aura that made you smile. I admired her positivity and was inspired by her.

Another perk from the Bravo booth was receiving a copy of the new Top Chef Quickfire cookbook, which hasn't yet been released to the public. I snagged an extra copy and am giving it away to you, my readers.

To enter this giveaway, send me your most creative breakfast recipe by this Friday, 9/25 by 12:00 a.m. I'll post the top 3 recipes on my site and the winner will get their own exclusive copy of the new Top Chef Quickfire cookbook.

Email me at critic@foodistanyc.com or simply leave a comment. Good luck!

Last Chance to Win a Punta Dura Gift Certificate

Last week I announced a raffle for a $20 gift certificate to Punta Dura. Tuesday, August 4th is the last day to submit your favorite Northern Italian recipe to me for a chance to win. If my review from last week hasn't convinced you that Punta Dura is a place you must check out, maybe this gift certificate will. My favorite thing was the grilled branzino (pictured above), which was cooked beautifully and deboned at the table. It's an authentic, homemade experience that you won't forget.

Respond to this post with your favorite Northern Italian recipe for a chance to win.
