A Pinch of Salt Latin Cooking Class is Coming Up

My friend Raquel, who I've told you about before is hosting another fun cooking class that's coming up in October.  The theme intrigued me, as it's Latin and I'm a huge fan of this sizzlin' cuisine.  Here are the deets, and if you're interested, make sure you RSVP on Raquel's Eventbrite page.  The classes are small in size, so you get tons of personal attention and you'll also gain great knowledge about food preparation and fresh recipe ideas.

A Pinch of Salt - Latin Cooking Class

Private Kitchen Studio in NYC's Theater District (you'll get the specifics upon registering)
Saturday, October 8th 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

The Menu!

Sofrito, a soulful "mirepoix" for most Spanish dishes
Coconut rice with pigeon peas, a spin on "Arroz con Gondules"
Stewed chicken aka "pollo guisao"
Puerto Rican pork shoulder aka "pernil"
Platanos con ajo garlic, fried plantains with garlic
String Beans con ajo
Tres leches cake with whipped cream - light sponge cake infused with 3 milks mouth is watering.  Find out more on Raquel's blog, A Pinch of Salt and I can't wait to hear what you think.

  1. It is called "Gandules" and also "Gisado" is actually "Guisado"

  2. That came from Raquel, so I'll let her chime in...
